Information for the party involved: art. 13 of the Law on Privacy
The information leaflet represents the main measure for the protection of the party involved, its being aimed at:
- making known the purposes and procedures of data processing;
- describing the categories of parties to whom the data are notified meaning the scope of their disclosure;
- guaranteeing the faculty of being able to exercise the rights, recognised by the law on privacy, of the party with respect to its data.

Authorisation to process: art. 23 and 24 of the Law on Privacy
The law on privacy indicates the obligation to acquire the prior authorisation of the party involved in order to process its personal data. Authorisation must be given:
- freely;
- in specific form;
- documented in writing.
The authorisation is effectively given when preceded by an information leaflet.
The obligation to provide authorisation is not required in the event of processing concerning:
- data from public registers, lists, acts or documents generally available to the public;
- data relating to the performance of business activities.

Authorisation for sending email messages
Art. 130 of the new law on privacy (196/2003) states that the prior authorisation of the party involved is required to send advertising messages or business notices by email.

From the parties involved which make a specific request, Interventi Assicurativi S.r.l. requires authorisation for:
- data processing within the limits specified hereinafter;
- using the email for marketing purposes relating only to activities performed by Interventi Assicurativi S.r.l.
